STARTING GUN FOR THE BARCELONA WORLD RACE
Last 31st December the port of Barcelona witnessed the start of the third edition of the Barcelona World Race. It’s the only non-stop, round-the-world yacht race for crews of two, and outside help is allowed, although it’s subject to penalties. The sailboats will cover 23,000 nautical miles and finish in the port of Barcelona in three months’ time, after rounding the Cape of Good Hope (South Africa), Cape Leeuwin (Australia), Cape Horn (Chile), and Antarctica.
You can follow the day-to-day activities of the crews and their yachts on the official Barcelona World Race web page.
Good luck to all the participants and see you in three months’ time!
